  Next, I need to import all the environmental assets. 

  Today we textured a crypt in substance. It was a really useful workshop. It was interesting seeing how you stamp letters onto the material using height. This is something i will be using in my own work. 

  When I plugged in the textures in Maya, they looked muddy, un-reflective and just not the way I wanted it. I was told that the reason it wasn't looking right was because the skydome is just pure white and so the material has nothing to reflect. I began doing experiments to see if it was the skydome that was causing the problem. From the experiments i found, that the skydome wasn't the problem. I put this part of the project on hold whilst i dealt with everything else.

  Today, we did a texturing workshop on substance. We textured a shipping container and experimented with layers, generators, stamps and smart materials. I thought that the workshop was very useful and it inspired me to revisit the texturing on The Wonder. 

RATCHED: Pic 1: The blue background works well with the blue jacket. The character is one with the background. Pic 2: This shot is similar to Pic 1 in terms of colour, however there is a floral patterned wallpaper in the background. If the character was wearing a pattern too, he'd be lost in the background. However, he is wearing a plain blue shirt so he stands out.  Pic 3: The woman is wearing white against a strong, red background and so she stands out.  Pic 1: The yellow dress stands out against the background.  Pic 2: These cold, green colours look hostile, scientific and nightmarish. The colour is similar to a retro bathroom.  MAD MEN: The suit is the same colour as the background, the bright yellow taxi stands out against the background, and so does the dress. The floral colourful pattern contrasts with the dull, muddy background.  There are a lot of browns and dark colours here.
