Soundscape Reflective Statement

I have enjoyed the soundscape project. Experimenting with sound is very enjoyable in my opinion. It's amazing how you can mix the sounds up of everyday objects and through a little bit of editing, turn the sounds into something completely different and unique. I thought that the 30 second soundscapes were an excellent way to introduce us to the world of sound design. Taking images and imagining what they could sound like was very enjoyable. It was fun seeing what my brain came up with for each image. I also enjoyed researching Walter Murch. He has won many awards in sound design. It is motivating to see.

Soundscape 3

Pre-SXF I used soap and water in my sink to create this sound. The image reminded me of germs. The thought of germs then made me think of a gloopy sound which is why the sound sounds the way it does.   After SFX After SFX, the sound is much louder. Pre-SFX sounded too quiet in my opinion, you could barely hear all of the sounds.

Soundscape 2

Pre-SFX This sound was created with a lightbulb and coins. It reminded me of something electric and the orb in the middle is maybe powering the things floating around it. The coins make the sound of these things banging into one another.  After SFX  After SFX the sound sounds much better. It is louder and sounds like it exits in an environment because of the reverb. The increase in sound makes the orb sound more powerful, almost like it should be something we should be scared of.

Soundscape 1

Pre-SFX  I made this sound using a sweet wrapper. To me, this image looks like a strange sci-fi insect. It also reminds me of something you'd put up as a decoration on Christmas.  After SFX After SFX the sound sounds noticeably different, it sounds creepy. Almost like this creature is in a sewer or a cave or an environment like that.

I was assigned a random number, the number I was given had three images connected to it. We were told to describe the images and then decide what the images may sound like. I will be using things that are around my house in order to make the sounds of the images.  IMAGE ONE When I first looked at this image, it really reminded me of sweet wrappers and insects. Both sweet wrappers and insects make a crackling sound. Luckily, I had just been eating some quality streets. I picked up one of the wrappers and then began to slowly rustle it. The sound that it made was a great fit for the photo! IMAGE TWO The second image looks both electrical and magnetic to me. The glowing orange sphere in the middle, seems like it is controlling the magnetic looking objects around it. The first sound I thought of when looking at this was a buzzing sound. Not a low buzz or a high buzz either, just a medium pitch buzz. As I stared at the image, I heard a buzzing sound. I looked behind me and upwards...
