The Wonder Demo Model and Design Part 1.


I began rethinking the design of the ship. I came up with this drawing.


This ship design is inspired by the Chichen Itza.



I really like the dome at the top. I then needed to think about the ship's landing gear and ways of breaking up the ship's symmetry. I was found it hard to imagine these things in my head. I needed to see what they would look like from different angles.

 To help with the draw ups I made a quick demo model of the ship. This model will also help with the orthographs, turnarounds and more concept art. 

This demo model will be added to over time and become the final model of the ship.



After modelling one leg for the landing gear, i started thinking about how it would fold when the ship takes off. I realised that it wouldn't be possible.


This is the ship after some adjustments. I removed the landing gear and moved the aerial to the top of the dome.


I then added this landing gear. These stands easily fold when the ship takes off.


I then added a door.



And a scanner.


I then added the gun flaps which are in the drawings of the ship. I also changed the door,

Reflective Statement

  Reflective Statement  The Major project has been my favourite out of the three stages. I feel like I had much better time management. I didn’t feel rushed at any point, and I think that is because I had everything planned out and I knew what I had to get done by a certain point. I set myself personal deadlines on the way and made sure I stuck by them so I could complete everything I needed to complete in time. It was really satisfying seeing all the work I completed over the three stages come together as one big project.    I have learnt a lot of new skills during the Major project. Skills that I will take further. I am now much more confident in Maya and animating as a whole.     I am happy with the outcome of the project. I am pleased with my animation, and it has turned out better than I thought it would.   I am looking forward to taking things further with animation.
