Story Ideas
After the lecture with Simon I had some ideas. I decided to bullet point my ideas.
- The main character is a sinister German scientist called Dr. Otto Dinkelman
- The scientist can see into people's minds and steal their intelligence using a giant machine
- He steals people's intellect and stores them in peculiar looking lightbulbs
- He has a gallery above his lab where people can view the lightbulbs like artwork. The people visiting the lab are unware of what is actually inside the bulbs.
- His end goal is to take the intelligence of everyone all over the world and insert it into his own brain to become the most intelligent person on earth.
- When people have their minds stolen they lose nearly all of their memory
The beginning, middle and end.
The Main Points.
At the start of the story, you see the shadow of Dr. Dinkelman. He is in his lab doing an experiment. The lab is dark and dingy and the scientist's shadow is sinister looking but apart from that, nothing seems too strange. Then, the camera pans to the right. On Otto's worktop is a very peculiar looking lightbulb.
It then cuts to the gallery which is situated above the laboratory. The gallery is showcasing the strange lightbulbs. People are pointing at them and talking to one another.
Back down in the lab, we get our first look at Otto. Otto walks over to a giant machine. He types something quickly into a keypad and then sits down in a chair beside the machine. He then puts a metal helmet on which is linked to the machine and lays back. The machine turns on and the helmet lights up. Something from the machine is going into his brain. That something is the intelligence of other people. After laying in the chair for a while he lifts the helmet off of his head and plugs a lightbulb into the machine. After a few seconds, the lightbulb lights up.
It cuts to a man in the street who is holding his head. He is in a lot of pain.
Dr. Dinkleman takes the lightbulb over to his worktop and looks at it, grinning. "Another one for the gallery", he says to himself before laughing hysterically. Dinkleman then walks back over to his chair, puts the helmet on again and lays back like he did before.
It shows the globe, people from all around the world are getting their minds taken. Exclamation marks are popping up around the world indicating they have lost their minds.
Dr. Dinkleman looks over to the machine. the machine displays his IQ as a brain filling up. He smiles and says "Not there yet". The camera pans over to the right. On his wall is a corkboard. Pinned on the corkboard is a piece of paper with the title, "Becoming The Most Intelligent Person In History". Underneath the title is bullet points.
People in the gallery then start to panic. Everyone is holding their heads, screaming.
The machine starts getting louder and the helmet begins to light up even brighter. His IQ is now nearly at the top of the brain diagram. You can hear his heart beat getting louder and faster.
It shows the globe again, nearly the whole world is experiencing it.
Dr. Dinkleman then looks back at the machine and the brain is full! Then, the camera zooms into his face. His eyes are wide open. Something is wrong, very wrong. Dr. Dinkleman's face goes bright red and his head explodes! The machine then stops working and causes a power cut. The normal lights in the gallery all go out but the Otto's bulbs stay on. The people in the gallery look terrified. They are also extremely confused. How come these lights are still on? The gallery's visitors then leave, shaken up.
It then shows the globe and the exclamation marks have all disappeared.
